BLU Cologne for Men by AjmalPerfume released in 2013. Blu by Ajmal’s composition offers a refreshing choice for men with a penchant for the great outdoors. This bold scent starts out with a sweeter touch but quickly succumbs to the influence of the earthybase notes that adds resonance to the earlier notes. It adds a masculine influence while remaining a clean, refreshing scent.
Top Notes are fruity and herbaceous, with watermelon, bergamot, and lavender as its opening.
Heady, fragrant jasmine and lotus flower form the sweet floral Middle Notes of this scent to complicate the top notes.
The earthy, deep, and masculine Base Notes are musk, smoky sandalwood, and resinous amber.

A stellar creation... one of Ajmal’s best for a reason.
This is one of Ajmal’s best selling Men’s perfume for a reason that’s still going strong for nearly a decade. The whole thing smells amazing from the get go with an incredibly intoxicating and long drawn out dry down which showcases amber and sandalwood finessed by aquatic and soapy lotus flower and jasmine with just a hint of musk and a subdued unlisted oud accord where the whole thing lands on amber, sandalwood, oud and musk.
The kicker though is that there’s a light agarwood accord in this and it’s deep, woody and masculine. I mean c’mon... do you really think that Ajmal would create an aquatic without oud? I know that oud is unlisted but it’s here. Trust me on this. The perfume is masculine, very much so. The deep woods in this are so awesome. If you wear a tiny bit the sillage trails will reveal delicious agarwood. Light yes but there.
I’ve worn the wheels off of Blu for months with a tiny spritz here and a dash there as to not be overwhelmed olfactory wise to actually smell this perfume and the amazing outcome is the same. Deep but subdued oud, amber, sandalwood and musk with a floral heart backdrop of lotus and jasmine flower. The dry down on this though is killer. If you’ve smelled real genuine amber tears from the tree, all resinous and what not then you’ll get this perfume and treasure it immensely.
Amazingly awesome scent. I’m personally mesmerized by it. By the way, I’ve been smelling perfume things for 30 years and this just ticked me beyond recognition. A very satisfying perfume.
The best part being is that there’s numerous concentrations of Blu so you can play with it to your heart’s desire. This is a compliment getter. It’s a pleasure to adorn. I personally find it ‘very’ addicting. Blue yes but dark. There’s nothing to compare this to so any connotation to other Western aquatics
will not suffice in the least as those will be more shadows.
Ajmal’s Blu ultimately is a heavy amber perfume. Not the synthetic toffy sweet kind. The deep resinous, bow rosin, woody and balsamic smelling kind. I find myself spritzing this on too much and that’s not a good thing. A strong scent where the wearer becomes anosmic easily. Lasts for a solid 18 hours on my skin. The concentrated perfume oil is less invasive and deeper but the eau de parfum is where the fun is at.
